School of No Bias | What do the media and advertising really say about gender roles?

The new cycle of the programme “School of No Bias”, called “What do the media and advertising really say about gender roles?”, aims to strengthen students’ media literacy, enhance educators’ skills so they can impart this knowledge to children, and raise awareness among media professionals about the perpetuation of gender stereotypes in media content. This new cycle will focus on both the systematic development of critical thinking around gender stereotypes and on creating skills for producing inclusive content that promotes equality and the acceptance of diversity.

As part of “School of No Bias | What do the media and advertising really say about gender roles?”, WHEN will carry out 10 educational visits to schools in Greece during the first months of 2026, with the aim of empowering students to critically challenge stereotypes and act as agents of change.

Through experiential activities, case studies, interactive material and open dialogue -adapted to the age and interests of each group- students will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn how to identify gender stereotypes and sexist language in media content.
  • Become familiar with tools that will help them to critically analyse and question the models promoted by advertising, traditional media and new media.
  • Explore ways to create their own content that not only avoids reproducing stereotypes and sexist discourse, but actively promotes equality and inclusion through children’s undergone experiences.

If you are interested in hosting the workshop “School of No Bias | What do the media and advertising really say about gender roles?” at your school, please complete the form and we will contact you as soon as possible.
