Annual Reports

2025 was a year of change, transition, and growth for WHEN - a year that marked the organization’s move into a new, more mature phase. With a new name, a new space that came to life through people and activities, and a growing, strengthened team, WHEN continued to build communities of care, empowerment, and connection across Greece.

2024 will always be the year when we felt that we really found (and made!) our home. After countless visits and browsing across Athens, dozens of buildings, rejections and uncertainties, there came one day in June when we found ourselves inside the yellow building with the green windows at 29, Socratous st, in the heart of Athens.

The year 2023 was yet another year of growth for WHEN as we completed the first strategic plan we created in 2021. You will read many of its outputs and outcomes in this annual report.

2019 is the first year we attempt to capture, in a comprehensive annual report, what we designed and created, where our resources came from, how we managed them and our impact. This is how we want to present them - with pride, transparency but also with a great sense of consistency and responsibility - to the team, the beneficiaries, the supporters and the whole large community of people who follow our work.

No single annual report can capture all of 2020, but this is our attempt to do so.

2021, amidst its many demands and upheavals, highlighted some of these challenges. Even if, until now, we could, to some extent, turn a blind eye to many of the pathologies that plague gender equality in our country - sexist public discourse, sexual violence and harassment, domestic and economic violence, the unequal distribution of caring responsibilities - many bold, outspoken and "dangerous" women have ensured, in the past year, that the issues find their place (if only for a while) in the public debate and at the decision-making tables that affect us.

2022 was the year we celebrated our 10th birthday. It was the year that our team grew even more, but also the year that we made important decisions about the priorities and development of the organization in the coming years. We believe that every anniversary is also a small or big occasion for reflection and that is exactly what we tried to do. Not only from the inside out, but also from outwards inwards. What are the changes we want to see happening from here on out, what kind of impact do we want to create, in which direction and by what means.
