A room of their own - 30 voices of their own

This special digital edition on women’s experiences is, for us at WHEN, one of the highlights of the “A room of their own” programme, an initiative we designed and implemented with the support of the Estée Lauder Emerging Leaders Fund and Vital Voices, aiming to empower emerging and underrepresented women writers in Greece.

For the creators featured in this edition, it marks another step in their writing journey and perhaps a recognition of the distance they have travelled throughout this programme, which we hope offered them the knowledge, empowerment, and connections that will support them in taking many more similar steps in the future.

We are certain that within these pages you will find texts that motivate you, challenge you, provoke reflection, and perhaps even inspire you to get to know their authors or to write your own continuation or response to the stories and ideas they share. From our side, we feel deeply grateful for the opportunity these writers -as well as all the programme participants, including those who ultimately did not take part in this publication- gave us to reflect on the issues that touched them, and on everything we need to continue creating and imagining change through the fields and forms of expression that move us.
