Zoi Tziakou

Zoi was born in 1982 in Athens. She studied Biotechnology at the Agricultural University of Athens and pursued her postgraduate studies at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Patras. Her professional experience spans over a decade in the health sector, with a specialization in patient adherence to therapeutic protocols. Her work in leading European research institutes, as well as at the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs of the Council of the European Union, provided her with a solid understanding of health and welfare policies, along with familiarity with advanced research methodologies. Since 2021, Zoi has focused on science communication. She has worked as an academic editor, collaborating with authors in the medical and biosciences fields, while also working as a freelance editor and copywriter, producing content on scientific and social issues for both digital media and educational/promotional materials.

In recent years, she has contributed to communication and fundraising teams within prominent NGOs, drawing on her interdisciplinary background and strong communication skills. Through her involvement with the volunteer writing team at WHEN, she aims to actively support women’s empowerment and the elimination of gender inequalities, highlighting the challenges and opportunities shaping contemporary society.
