WHEN is participating in the <strong>European GatE project<\/strong> (Gender Equality in the Green Energy Transition), a two-year initiative co-funded by the <strong>European Union\u2019s Erasmus+ programme<\/strong>, which aims to strengthen women\u2019s presence and leadership in the green energy sector.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Although the green energy sector is growing rapidly and creating new professional opportunities, women remain underrepresented, particularly in technical and leadership roles. GatE <strong>seeks to address the systemic barriers that limit women\u2019s access to the sector<\/strong>, with a particular focus on women from underrepresented groups.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project builds on an <strong>innovative collaborative model<\/strong> bringing together public authorities, businesses, educational organisations, civil society organisations and women themselves, with the aim of creating a more inclusive ecosystem for the <strong>green transition<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>As part of GatE, the following will be developed and implemented:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Vocational Education and Training (VET) programmes tailored to the needs of the green economy<\/li>\n<li>Mentoring and professional support initiatives for women who want to enter or advance in the green energy sector<\/li>\n<li>Training programmes for trainers and educators<\/li>\n<li>Research-based policy tools and practices to remove gender-related barriers<\/li>\n<li>An educational and collaborative digital platform, as well as an Observatory for Gender Equality in Green Energy, ensuring the project\u2019s results have a long-term impact<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the project\u2019s first key outcomes is the <a href=\"https:\/\/project-gate.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/GaTE-D2.1-Gender-Responsive-Blueprint.pdf\"><strong>Gender-Responsive Blueprint<\/strong><\/a>, an action plan that serves as a roadmap for integrating the gender dimension into policies and practices related to the green energy transition.<\/p>\n<p>You can find all the <a href=\"https:\/\/project-gate.eu\/news\/\">latest GatE news here<\/a> and read the most recent newsletters:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/project-gate.eu\/gate-newsletter-issue-1\/\">Issue #1<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/project-gate.eu\/gate-newsletter-issue-2\/\">Issue #2<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At WHEN, we believe that the green transition is also <strong>an opportunity for social change<\/strong>. Gender equality is not simply one aspect of sustainable development; it is a prerequisite for it.
