Within the framework of the FAIR PAY<\/a><\/strong> project, the <\/span>Research Centre for Gender Equality (KETHI)<\/b> as the lead partner, together with the Greek <\/b><\/span>Association of Women Entrepreneurs (SEGE)<\/b> and <\/span>WHEN Equity, Empowerment, Change <\/b>as the co-authors, developed this training handbook <\/strong><\/span>for employees<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The manual is addressed to <\/span>employees in Greek companies of all sizes<\/b>, (including micro, small, medium-sized and large enterprises). Its purpose is to support employees in <\/span>understanding and exercising their rights<\/b> related to pay transparency and the principle of equal pay for work of equal value<\/strong>, as strengthened by the new European legislative framework.<\/p>\n

Pay transparency is not only about the policies and procedures implemented by an organisation. It is also about ensuring that employees understand how their pay is determined, which criteria influence salary increases and promotions, and how they can request information or clarification when something is unclear. In this sense, the manual serves as both an educational resource and a practical tool for information and empowerment<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The scope of the manual covers the employment relationship at every stage: before recruitment, during the selection process and after joining the organisation. It addresses employees’ right to access information, explains the principle of “equal pay for work of equal value”<\/strong>, supports the identification of potential forms of pay discrimination<\/strong>, and outlines the available procedure<\/strong>s and avenues for addressing suspected inequalities.<\/span><\/p>\n

The manual is intended as an informative and supportive resource. It does not constitute legal advice, nor does it require prior knowledge of legal terminology. Instead, it translates the European legal framework into accessible guidance and practical steps<\/strong>, placing particular emphasis on evidence-based dialogue and the gradual, informed and safe exercise of employees’ rights. It also recognises that available procedures and implementation practices may vary depending on the size and organisational structure of each company.<\/p>\n

The manual is also designed to support employee training and awareness-raising activities<\/strong>. For this reason, it includes practical examples, tools and reflection points that encourage active learning and help participants develop a deeper understanding of pay transparency and equal pay in the workplace.<\/p>\n

The handbooks were developed as part of the FAIR PAY project, implemented by the General Secretariat for Equality and Human Rights (GSEHR) as the coordinating beneficiary, in partnership with the Research Centre for Gender Equality (KETHI), WHEN \u2013 Equity, Empowerment, Change, and the Association of Greek Women Entrepreneurs (SEGE).<\/em><\/p>\n
