However, pay inequality remains a persistent problem worldwide, including the European Union and Greece. The so-called <strong>\u201cgender pay gap\u201d<\/strong> reflects the inequality in the salary paid to men and women for work of equal value or for the same work, and is an indication of broader structural inequalities in the workplace and society.<\/p>\n<p>Eliminating the gender pay gap is <strong>imperative<\/strong>, not only for reasons of equality and justice, but also for reasons of economic development, as the full utilization of women&#8217;s potential enhances <strong>productivity and competitiveness<\/strong>. In this context, the FAIR PAY Project is being implemented, with the General Secretariat for Equality and Human Rights (GSHE) which is the coordinating body and partners the Center for Research on Equality Issues (KETHI), WHEN Equity, Empowerment, Change, and the Hellenic Entrepreneurs&#8217; Association (SEGE), with <strong>co-financing<\/strong> from Greece and the European Union, through the <strong>&#8220;Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values&#8221;<\/strong> (CERV) Program.<\/p>\n<p>The main <strong>objective<\/strong> of the FAIR PAY Project is to contribute to the elimination of the gender pay gap and to address its actual causes, by promoting <strong>pay transparency<\/strong> under the European Directive 2023\/970, which focuses on the working environments of businesses.
