It means raising children, supporting older parents, and managing the household. Often, this is done without recognition or adequate support. Care responsibilities still fall disproportionately on women.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>In Greece<\/strong>, according to the 2022 European Gender Equality Index:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women spend <strong>17.3 hours per week<\/strong> on unpaid care and domestic responsibilities, compared to <strong>8.4 hours for men<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In households with children under the age of 12, <strong>59% of women<\/strong> take on daily caregiving responsibilities, in contrast to only <strong>23% of men<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our new project \u2018CAREdiZO\u2019 aims to change this. This European project aims to promote the equal share of care and <strong>close the gender gap<\/strong> by empowering organizations and businesses through\u00a0 innovative <strong>digital tools<\/strong>, training, and networking opportunities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The name <a href=\"https:\/\/caredizo.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CAREdiZO<\/a> combines the Greek words for &#8220;earn&#8221; and &#8220;live,&#8221; expressing the <strong>strength<\/strong> and <strong>creativity<\/strong> that arise when care is recognized, shared, and supported.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The objectives of CAREdiZO<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Promote work-life balance <strong>policies<\/strong> in SMEs and NGOs &#8211; which represent 93.5% of European organisations.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Position\u00a0 care as both a <strong>life skill<\/strong> and a professional asset.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Challenge <strong>gender stereotypes<\/strong> that\u00a0 confine women to unpaid care work.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support men&#8217;s <strong>active participation<\/strong> in child-care, domestic responsibilities, and parental leave.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Align with the EU Directive on <strong>work-life balance<\/strong> for parents and carers (Work-Life Balance Directive).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>What does CAREdiZO bring?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pan-European <strong>research<\/strong> on work-life balance policies.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Interactive <strong>e-learning tools<\/strong> and educational games for businesses and organisations.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Podcasts<\/strong> featuring stories of people breaking gender stereotypes and inspiring change.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Transnational community<\/strong> of practice exchange from Cyprus, Greece, Lithuania and Bulgaria.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A new <strong>\u201cCAREdiZO certification\u201d<\/strong> that recognizes and supports organisations that invest in and actively promote equality and work-life balance.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Events<\/strong> and open public dialogue on care as a core social value.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Care is everyone&#8217;s responsibility!<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/caredizo.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CAREdiZO<\/a> is co-funded by the European Union and implemented by five partners from different European countries: the Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies \u2013 MIGS (Cyprus), CHALLEDU (Greece), WHEN (Greece), the Women\u2019s Issues Information Center \u2013 WIIC (Lithuania), and the National Business Development Network \u2013 NBDN (Bulgaria).<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Funded by the European Union.
