The manual for preventing and combating sexual harassment at work is addressed to human resources executives, members of the management of companies and organizations, but also to executives of any department concerned with the cultivation of a culture of safety and respect in the workplace.<\/p>\n

The handbook covers what sexual harassment is and isn’t, the context in which it can occur, as well as some examples and case studies. It also includes myths and truths about sexual harassment and the following 4 topics, which are closely related to companies’ legal obligations to address sexual harassment at work:<\/p>\n

  1. RISK ASSESSMENT<\/strong>
    \nBusinesses are required to assess the risks that may exist in their own workplace and increase the likelihood of sexual harassment and violence incidents occurring therein.<\/li>\n
  2. PREVENTION<\/strong>
    \nBusinesses should design policies to prevent the occurrence of incidents of sexual harassment and violence, protecting male and female employees, partners, customers and suppliers.<\/li>\n
  3. RESPONCE<\/strong>
    \nBusinesses should establish procedures and mechanisms for safe reporting and handling of incidents of sexual harassment and violence occurring within their sphere of responsibility.<\/li>\n
  4. AWARENESS-RAISING<\/strong>
    \nBusinesses are encouraged to take action to raise awareness among their staff about the phenomenon of sexual harassment, to train individuals on how they can help prevent and respond to it, and to inform all parties involved of the relevant procedures and policies.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The project \u201cSafe at Work\u201d is implemented under the Active citizens fund programme, with ActionAid Hellas as the implementing body, and with WHEN (previously known as Women on Top<\/a>), the Research Committee of Panteion University, the Greek People Management Association and DataWo as partners.<\/em><\/p>\n

    The Active citizens fund programme, of \u20ac13.5 million, is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and is part of the European Economic Area (EEA) funding mechanism for the period 2014 \u2013 2021, known as EEA Grants. The programme aims to strengthen and enhance the sustainability of civil society and highlight its role in promoting democratic procedures, to strengthen active citizenship and to defend human rights.
